In the realm of art, I have always felt a mysterious pull towards the ethereal and supernatural. Thus, while in a period of tumult, I stumbled upon the enigmatic practice of alchemy and was enamoured with its philosophies of transmutation and the pursuit of the ultimate truth.
Alchemy has since become an obsessive source of artistic inspiration, meticulously communicated through tiny glass beads. The process of transforming the base materials into an intricate whole mirrors the alchemical idea of transmutation, and beckons reflection on the elusive mysteries of ones inner landscape.
Through the use of colour, texture, and composition, I delve into these mysteries, seeking to gently coax out a form through the meditative practice of weaving glass and cotton.
Each beaded creation is imbued with symbols evoking the elements, the celestial bodies, and the cosmos, saturated with their own unique meaning. Through these creations, I am able to order my innermost thoughts and feelings, residing for many hours in the stillness of a quiet mind.
All good research begins with an irresistible rabbit hole.

Armoured with an image and a deftly warped loom, the meditative process of threading, weaving and building an idea begins.

And after many hours comes rest and satisfactions aching neck.
